
The franchisee will operate an after-school center that provides math and reading programs usingthe Kumon Method of learning ("Kumon Center"). Children are given the opportunity to attend KumonCenters twice each week throughout the year for approximately 20-30 minutes per subject and completedaily assignments at home on non-Center days.

Kumon provides a comprehensive support system designed to guide you from your first day of training through every stage of your business ownership.
Item 11 outlines Kumon's pre- and post-opening obligations: Instructor Development Program, materials supply, sign/furniture provision, computer systems licensing, and ongoing training/conference requirements.
Instructor Development Program (IDP): two-semester program (~4 months for first semester). Includes online training, Kumon curriculum study, in-center training. $1,000 Training Kit deposit. Supervised by Angela Dixon, SVP Kumon University. No IDP fee; student pays travel/living expenses.
Post-opening Ongoing Training: Instructor Achievement Testing, monthly Instructor meetings (or online training), Professional Development activities, additional classroom training per Operations Manual TLP requirements.
New Center Marketing Fee: $300/month (from month 7 after opening) via third-party digital advertising program. Recommended $4,800/year local advertising (currently not mandatory). No national advertising fund.
Required: Kumon proprietary software and customer management system. Kumon Lead Management System Suite ($200–$550 initial). Notebook computer required at Center at all times. High-speed Internet access required.
Kumon provides Kumon Materials (Worksheets, Placement/Achievement Tests, Record Books, Progress Charts) at no charge; franchisee pays shipping. Chargeable Items (supplemental/promotional materials) available for purchase per Exhibit A.
